Round robin
Everyone plays everyone, with a full standings table. 3 to 12 teams, single or double legs.
Round robin guarantees every team meets every other team — the fairest way to rank a small field. It fits 3 to 12 teams; beyond that, the match count explodes (12 teams = 66 matches), which is what group stages are for.
Legs: single or double
- Single round robin — each pair plays once.
- Double round robin — each pair plays home and away (two legs). Use it for season-style play where venue or first-move advantage matters, or simply to double the game count.
You can toggle double legs in the format settings. Changing it after results exist clears affected results, so decide before the first match.
Points and standings
Matches are recorded as scores — the winner is derived, and draws are possible (unlike knockout play). Standings use configurable points:
- Default: win = 3, draw = 1, loss = 0.
- Adjust the three values in settings if your sport scores differently.
Ranked teams are separated by the tiebreaker chain in your settings: goal difference, goals for, head-to-head points/difference/goals, seed, and (optionally) disciplinary points — applied top to bottom, and you can always drag a manual final order. The full chain is documented in Standings and tiebreakers.
When to choose it
- Leagues and club nights where a final ranking matters more than a final.
- Small fields (3–8 teams) where every matchup is worth playing.
- As the group phase of a bigger event — that is the group stage + knockout format, which is round robin per group plus a playoff.
